BASIC SWAT COURSE hosted by the East Baton Rouge Parish S.O. SWAT March 31-April 4, 2014

Tuition: $250 (Includes the cost of Simmunition Rds, Distraction Devices, Windows, etc.)
Group Discounts will apply for more than two officers from the same agency

Course Details: This course is designed for individuals who have recently been assigned to a SWAT team and have little to no basic SWAT training. The course is a 5-day (50+ hours) course with multiple day night evolutions.

Course Topics: The course will include, but is not limited to:
 Introduction to SWAT Operations
 SWAT Legal Issues
 SWAT Member Medical Aspects
 Day / Night Pistol and Carbine (SWAT qualification courses)
 Day / Night Close Quarters Battle (CQB)
 Mechanical Breaching
 Break and Rake
 Distraction Device Certification
 High Risk Warrant Service
 Barricaded Subject

• Students must be a peace officer or active military personnel and be able to provide agency ID on the first day of the course.
• Students should have a POST certification with the pistol and carbine and be able to physically work long hours in adverse conditions.
• All carbines should be zeroed at 50 yards prior to arrival.
• Weapons should have lights for night ops.

Individual Equipment: Students will need all individual equipment used for SWAT operations to include, but not limited to:
 SWAT uniform (BDU / flightsuit)
 Body armor
 Helmet
 Carbine (sling and 3 magazines)
 Pistol (3 magazines)
 Pistol belt (holster, magazine pouch, etc.)
 300 rounds for pistol and 300 for carbine
 Gas mask
 Eye & ear protection
 Gloves
 Flashlight (weapon mounted & hand held)

Payment Instructions: The cost of the course is $250 per student and is limited to 24 seats. Please make checks payable to East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. Payment is due on the first day of class or you can mail to:
